Second GLWN Wind Summit Scheduled for July 11-12, 2012 in Cleveland, Ohio
GLWN is pleased to announce that the 2012 GLWN Wind Summit will take place July 11-12, 2012 in Cleveland, Ohio. This important supplier-focused conference will bring together significant players in the wind industry -- including policy makers, legislators, OEMs, manufacturers and advocates -- in an intimate business setting designed to encourage networking, foster ideas and build valuable relationships.
The 2012 GLWN Wind Summit is being developed as a unique national forum for addressing supply chain challenges while showcasing the many manufacturing success stories in the wind industry. Participants will enjoy face-to-face access to suppliers, industry leaders, policy makers and supply chain managers representing some of the world's top OEMs. The 2012 Summit will build on the success of the 2011 inaugural event, with specific modifications incorporated to include more interactive town hall style sessions (and less on-screen slides!). GLWN is acting on members' suggestions and comments in planning the 2012 conference, as an exit survey gathered at the conclusion of the 2011 Wind Summit showed that 85% of attendees strongly favor (and would definitely attend) a follow-up Summit in 2012. In addition to educational sessions that engage attendees with questions and conversations regarding challenges and solutions in the wind energy industry, participants can look forward to enhanced networking opportunities with key industry decision-makers. Extra time for pre-planned connections and business-to-business meetings will be built into the two-day schedule. (By popular request, all registrants will have unrestricted pre-Summit access to the attendee list, which will be regularly updated on the GLWN.org website and greatly aid in the pre-show planning phase leading up to the July event.) Attendee comments from 2011's Summit have not only helped to shape next year's event, but have provided encouraging feedback on the networking opportunities prevalent at the show. "Connections made at [the 2011 Wind Summit] conference were invaluable," wrote one attendee. "Already quoting on one project. I plan on meeting with another prospect at their facility, which should also bring in additional quotes and business. This was, without a doubt, the best conference I have ever attended (which was) associated with the GLWN.Ó 2012 Wind Summit Meeting Venue. The 2012 GLWN Wind Summit will once again be held at Cleveland's Public Auditorium & Conference Center, which is currently undergoing a $5 million renovation. The center is located in the heart of downtown Cleveland, just 15 minutes from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The host hotel for the Wind Summit is the The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cleveland Downtown-Lakeside, which is just completing a $17 million renovation. SAVE THE DATE (July 11-12, 2012) and start making your plans to attend the 2012 GLWN Wind Summit, the pinnacle of networking and learning for GLWN members and associates.
